Thanks to advancements in technology, there is no need to be hospitalized for most eye surgeries. The Sierra Ambulatory Surgery Center and its highly trained staff are uniquely and exclusively dedicated to out-patient eye procedures. The Center is state licensed, AAAHC certified, and Medicare approved.

Opened in June 2000, the Center is  located adjacent to Sierra Eye Medical Group in Visalia, California. The Center includes a  pre-operative and recovery area, and an operating room featuring today's state-of- the-art surgery technologies.

In addition to housing an operating room and treatment room, the Center has Argon and YAG laser surgery available. The Argon laser is used extensively for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy. The YAG laser is used to perform post-cataract capsulotomies and some glaucoma procedures.
